Jay, originally from LaSalle Ontario, moved to Romeo Michigan when he was eleven where he and his family lived for five years before moving back to LaSalle, a small town just outside of Windsor. Raised in a Christian home, he committed his life to Christ at age six and rededicated it when he was twelve. Jay is the father of “two beautifully wild at heart boys, Luke & Isaac,” who are helping him “rediscover the wonderful world God created and the fun we can have in it.” In terms of his career, Jay is an Automotive Engineer currently working for Fords.
His family are among the founding members of the Devonwood Community Church about eighteen years ago. Prior to that they attended the Windsor Church of the Nazarene before it moved to the Devonwood Community and was subsequently renamed. Currently Jay serves on the church board. He describes his role in the church as, “Nerd on the Board, general labourer and free spirit at play!”
Jay likes to stay active and his Hobbies are many. He enjoys staying fit, playing sports and other outdoor activities including “off-roading with the boys and their dirt bikes.” His other loves include fishing, boxing (primarily for exercise with his boys), watching movies, eating and playing with radio control vehicles.
The foundation of all that Jay does is prayer, reading God’s Word and fellowshipping with other believers. Jay is thankful for all of God’s goodness in his life.
“If we were to include a short comment on the Christian life mine would be: “God is love and to love God, and others, is to obey His commandments.” ~ Jay Palko
